EMU Attends “International Relations in the Age of Anxiety” Conference

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Department of Political Science and International Relations and Cyprus Policy Center (CPC) Chair Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen, CPC Research Assistant Devrim Şahin and EMU Department of Political Science and International Relations academic staff member Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuray Ibryamova delivered presentations at the "International Relations in the Age of Anxiety" conference.

The international conference which took place at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Political Sciences was organized by the Central and East European International Studies Association (CEEISA) and the International Studies Association (ISA).

Şahin and Prof. Dr. Sözen delivered a presentation titled "Third Wave of Authoritarianism" during the panel titled "Should We Think of Democracies Differently?" In the "Historical International Relations" panel Şahin delivered a presentation on "The World Logic of Westphalia Law after Westphalia". Asst. Prof. Dr. Ibryamova delivered a presentation on "Populism and National Identity in Bulgaria" during the panel titled "Understanding Comparative Populism"

The 4 day international conference brought together academicians and students from many different countries. During the 4 day period Prof. Dr. Sözen and Şahin promoted the new EMU Department of Political Science and International Relations Diplomacy and Conflict Management Master's program by hanging posters and handing out brochures at the University of Belgrade Rector's Office and Faculty of Political Sciences.
