Successful Graduates Of Our Department: Jeta Krasniqi

Jeta Krasniqi is a consultant serving as an Expert Advisor to the Kosovo Government on the EU facilitated negotiation process between Kosovo and Serbia. A project supported by the Norwegian Embassy. Mrs. Krasniqi is also the deputy chair of the Governmental Commission for the Verification and Recognition of Conflict-related sexual violence victims during the War, representing civil society.

Mrs. Krasniqi previously served as a senior researcher and project manager at the Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI)/Transparency International Kosovo. Her duties focused on the EU facilitated negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia where she worked with the Parliament of Kosovo to strengthen oversight, transparency, and accountability of the process. In this regard, she worked on multi-track diplomacy inciting especially track 1.5 of diplomacy through internal social and political dialogue by organizing meetings of relevant political stakeholders with citizens and civil society. In addition, she conducted several research analyses on the topic.

Previously, Mrs. Krasniqi served as Political Advisor (2015-2020) to the President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, where she was engaged in the field of foreign policy, promotion of human rights and gender equality. Mrs. Krasniqi was the Coordinator of the National Council for Survivors of Sexual Violence during the War established by the then President of Kosovo,

Atifete Jahjaga. Mrs. Krasniqi has a long-standing commitment to civil society organizations in advancing the role of women in society in Kosovo and Albania.

Mrs. Krasniqi's field of expertise include peace processes between Kosovo and Serbia including the EU facilitated process, EU's common foreign and security policy, peace mediation, conflict related-sexual violence, WPS, and Western Balkan regional cooperation.

Jeta Krasniqi graduated in International Affairs at the Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and finished her undergraduate studies in International Relations at Eastern Mediterranean University in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. She is a member of the Mediterranean Women Mediators Network (MWMN).
