Assist. Prof. Dr. Umut Bozkurt recently signed a book contract for a monograph with the Rowman & Littlefield International. Dr Bozkurt will be co-authoring the book with Associate Professor Dr. Umut Koldaş from the Near East University. The book is entitled Pragmatic Encounters with Islamism: Constituting Neoliberal Hegemony in Turkey and the Middle East and is expected to be published in 2020.
Prof. Dr. Yücel Vural edited a book with Michális S. Michael, Director, Centre for Dialogue-Global Reconciliation, Australia. The book is entitled Cyprus and the Roadmap for Peace: A Critical Interrogation of the Conflict and is expected to be published by Edward Elgar Publishing in Autumn 2018. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen autthored a chapter entitled "Re-Engaging the United Nations? Third Parties and the Cyprus Conflict" in the book.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Berna Numan's article "Estimating efficiency of Directive 2011/24/EU cross-border healthcare in member states" was published in the Journal of Comparative Effectiveness Research on May 17, 2018. An interdisciplinary team of 4 researchers have collaborated on different aspects of the article which studied the EU citizens' access to and reimbursement for healthcare provided or prescribed in a member state other than the member state of affiliation. The efficiency of cross-border healthcare policy was evaluated using data envelopment analysis of relevant items in the Eurobarometer Surveys on Safety and Quality of Care and Patients' Rights in the EU. Assist. Prof. Dr. Aylin G. Gürzel Aka and Prof. Dr. Müge Kınacıoğlu (Hacettepe University) co-authored a book chapter entitled "Turkish Perceptions of Turkey–US Relations During Obama's Presidency: Dialectics of Expectations/Partnership and Disappointments/Estrangement". The chapter will come out in the book entitled The World Views of the Obama Era: From Hope to Disillusionment, edited by Matthias Maass, Palgrave Publishing.
Department PhD. candidate and research assistant Buhari Shehu Miapyen co-authored a book chapter entitled "Boko Haram and Identity Reconstruction in Lake Chad Basin Region." The chapter appeared in the recently published book, Cross-Disciplinary Perspectives on Regional and Global Security, edited by Paweł Frankowski and Artur Gruszczak, published by Palgrave Macmillan.
Cyprus Policy Center Research Assistant, Devrim Şahin and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen, co-authored two book chapters: "Maximizing the Potential of a Japan-Turkey Strategic Relationship" and "Maintaining a Collaborative Environment Between Turkey and Israel on the Issue of Energy Resources". The chapters will be in the book, Economic Dynamics of Global Energy Geopolitics, edited by Ahmet Salih İkiz and is expected to be published in September 2018
